The Shadowed Souls are a group formed by Wyatt Hughes, in which he vows to protect his best friends from their damaged pasts. His own trauma comes in the form of Avery, a girl his parents adopted at the age of ten and effectively replaced him with. She took his family, his home. He won't let her have his men, even if they have other ideas.

In each book, there is an extensive trigger warning list as each character has their own inner battles to overcome. Expect a strong representation of mental health, including but not limited to body dysmorphia, eating disorders, overcoming abuse, and so on.
Together, despite their forced proximity, the group discover they've found their own version of a family, in which Avery is the main source of love and light. She is extremely headstrong, and she needs to be to keep her bully of a stepbrother from getting the best of her.
